“The old city area with the Orsini Castle in the center is very nice and has been left in its original state. Winding, narrow streets without tourist horrors. In this part of town only residential houses, no shops or restaurants. In the new outlet located below the district, there are two grocery stores and a very good bakery, which also offers delicious pizza pieces at a reasonable price. Occasionally is also a car is sold from the fruits and vegetables. Unfortunately, there is no place with a nice café; somehow lacks a center. We have tested only a very simple garden-pizzeria, which was quite far away on foot from the apartment (it was at the very end of the new district). Unfortunately totally excessive prices and poor quality. The other restaurants we have not tried, because we are then either go reigns over our excursions and a lot cooked in the apartment. Definitely recommendable is the Parco dei Mostri, an impressive Mannerist "magic garden" from the 16th century - very quaint and romantic. Another trip tip: Orvieto with its beautiful cathedral.”

“You can not go by car to the front door, but it was no problem for us. The lake is given as 10 km away. This is not true. The shortest distance, 37 km away. In the area there are a lot to look at. In the town itself there is a shop, a café with very good ice, more restaurants. You can reach everything on foot. In the village there were several festivals, where you can join quite naturally. Not far there is a good train connection to Rome. We have spent there two wonderful weeks.”

“A small place with incredibly nice people. There are very nice restaurants and the shops are very good. Small but really great! The value for money is very, very low by our standards and we have spent many years the most beautiful holiday here.”

“(Easily reached Vico and Bolsena, Rome by train in 40 minutes. From the station accessible place Scalo, park-and-ride car park opposite the train station for € 1.50 per day) Optimal starting point for exploring the surrounding area.”

This is how holiday rental owners described Bomarzo

Bomarzo, idealy situated in the north of Latium, at the border of Tuscany, and Umbria, gives the opportunity to visit the main art towns of central Italy, even by train (the local train station attigliano is 6 km away): Rome (70 km), Spoleto (45), Orvieto (40), Perugia (90), Assisi (90). ...

It was an historical fief of the Orsini family, whose castle is at the edge of this small medieval town. The surroundings, hills covered by olive and nut trees, offer amazing sights on archeologicals and caves of Etruscans, the original people of the region. At 15 kms, the “Bullicame hot Spring”, which Dante refers to in his “Inferno” of “Divina Commedia”, allows bathing in the “Terme dei Papi”.
