Holiday house in a picturesque location that leaves nothing to be desired

This holiday accommodation is in a little village with about 30 houses, facing a little pond, in a nature reserve where you can observe various bird species. The house is on a very quiet road used only by residents. Otherwise it is the cycle and walking path to the ten-kilometre-long sandy beach at Erdeven 800 metres away.

The ground floor has a living and dining room, with windows facing south-west towards the pond, as well as glass doors facing south-east towards the garden. On the ground floor there are also an open kitchen, a separate WC and a bathroom with a bath. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary appliances, not just for cooking but also for baking. Afterwards the dishwasher takes over the hard work, so you can just relax after dining. The coffee machine, toaster and kettle facilitate breakfast. As the fridge also has a freezer compartment, you can store groceries optimally during your stay. There are two bedrooms upstairs. One of them has a double bed (160 x 200cm with two Mattresses) and the other has two single beds (90 x 200cm). A children’s supplementary bed (60 x 150cm) is available. All the rooms have heating. The following can also be provided for parents with small children: a fold-out cot, a highchair, a baby bath, a pushchair for going on walks, and a gate to secure the top of the stairs.

In the completely enclosed garden, which cannot be looked into, you can listen to the sound of the sea whilst enjoying an aperitif or preparing fish and seafood on the grill. The garden is not shared with anyone. All the rooms have an open view of a four-hectare nature reserve, where you can observe rare bird species (don’t forget binoculars). The granite walls inside and outside are not just typical of the region, but also keep the house cool on hot summer days. If wind blows in from the Atlantic in autumn or spring then you feel very snug and safe behind these walls. There is a parking space right by the house, so you can arrive by car.

However, the house is not suitable for people with restricted mobility, as there are several steps in the garden and in the house. The three last steps do not have railings. Transfers to and from the airport in Nantes can be arranged if required, or you can hire a car at the airport.

The menhirs and dolmen can be explored by bicycle. Halfway, about 400-500 metres away, you can find bicycle hire, a pizzeria, a bistro/café with wireless Internet access. During the main season there is also a little grocery shop offering fresh croissants and baguettes. All other shopping facilities are in Erdeven about 4km away, including two supermarkets, restaurants, an ATM, a petrol station, a butcher and a bakery. Most of them are also open on Sunday mornings.

“The small stone house is beautifully renovated and comfortably furnished. The stove we enjoyed very much on cold evenings. The equipment is above average. It does not matter. The enclosed garden is sheltered from the wind, so you can sit there wonderful even in the off season. In addition, it is really well fenced, so ideal for dog or kids. The nice landlord received us personally and is always in case of emergency always reachable by phone.
The accommodation is picturesquely quiet. The path to the beach leads through a beautiful, wide dune landscape.
In the area there are many nice places to discover and plenty of hiking trails. After our excursions, we always like to come back to our little house.”

“The holiday home is in a beautiful location. It is wonderfully quiet and you can hear the sound of the sea in the distance, which we really enjoyed. The beach is very easy to walk.
The house is well equipped - everything needed for cooking is available. A disadvantage is the bad double bed. It is not a French bed - there are 2 mattresses à 70 cm and the crack in the narrow size of the mattresses is very disturbing.
Overall a rustic nice place to stay.”

Comment from property owner Mr Heinle:
“Thank you Mrs. Heimann for your positive rating and criticism. As for the double bed, it is true that it is not a queen bed with the typical masses 1.40 x 1.90, as in a large part of all French gites, but we have consciously for our many international customers 2 high quality mattresses with different degrees of hardness newly purchased. However, these have generous mass, as you stated, they are 2 x 0.80 to 2.00, so that even larger people and different "weight class" find a pleasant and restful sleep. We are sorry if it did not meet your needs, but so far we have been praised by all our satisfied customers. If you come back soon, hopefully we can provide an extra mattress topper to bridge the minimal gap. Good bye” The customer review has been automatically translated from German. “We found everything as described. The house is quiet, ideal for relaxing. Everything was there, what you want and the house very consistent; both from the furnishings as from the renovation.
With dog in the preseason ideal.

The next dog beach is close by.”

“Very nice house with a tastefully furnished living area, absolutely quiet. Mostly you only hear the surf of the Atlantic in the distance. The fenced garden is sheltered from the wind and ideal for a holiday with a child and a dog. The landlord has received us nice and was available by phone in the event of a problem occurring. We were able to place our bicycles protected against rain in a shelter. The great long sandy beach can be reached in 5 minutes by bike. To emphasize is the large bed by French standards. A stove provides cozy warmth on cool evenings.
    We will be back.”

Comment from property owner Mr Heinle:
“Thank you for your detailed and positive comment. We consciously bought the bed for our international guests more generously and individually (different degrees of mattress hardness). We look forward to seeing you soon, au revoir.” The customer review has been automatically translated from German. Back to the original language
