Holiday apartments and houses in North Holland, the idyllic holiday destination for the entire family

North Holland | From all around the world guests travel to the Province North Holland in order to spend a vacation here. Particularly families with children book holiday homes in North Holland as there is lot on offer and interesting things to do which provides for a diverse family vacation. One is able to find apartments and bungalows in the most lovely regions whether directly at the sea or in small picturesque towns and villages. Holiday homes in North Holland are the synonym for recuperation and relaxation far away from the stresses of everyday life.

Peaceful holidays in holiday homes in North Holland

The peninsula and province North Holland are surrounded by the Wadden Sea, Lake IJssel as well as North Sea and covers around 4,000 km² including the island Texel in the north and Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, in the southeast guaranteeing pure vacation atmosphere. Individualists can discover the enticing sights and opt for more activity with sailing, wind or kite surfing, diving or cycling. Families with children visit the extensive beaches, build sand castles or swim in partly shallow waters. Great bathing resorts along the west coast include Julianadorp, Egmond aan Zee or Callantsoog. Sailors prefer Monnickendam and Hoorn as starting points for exciting sailing tours over Lake IJssel. Holiday homes in North Holland also invite you to explore the island Texel. There are regular ferry connections from Den Helder which take guests to the island and they operate around every half an hour. The impressive beautiful beaches invite you to spend some carefree hours at the sea and the dune landscapes are perfect for long walks through breathtaking nature. The most well known place on Texel is surely Den Burg as with its small houses and picturesque village church is the cultural centre of the island. The former fishing village De Koog is the official bathing resort of Texel. Only separated by dunes from the sea it offers with its pretty houses a memorable holiday experience.

North Holland is a paradise for those yearning for vacation

From a holiday home in North Holland one should not wait too long to go on a discovery tour as there are many beautiful places waiting to be explored. Here we are not talking of Amsterdam the impressive metropolis on the southeast of the peninsula and where one could spend an entire vacation visiting the old town with its idyllic canals, the impressive museums and impressive buildings. But it is also towns and villages such as Bergen, Bergen aan Zee, Zandvoort, Petten and Sint Maartenszee that enthral visitors. Beyond the Netherlands the former fishing village Zandvoort has a claim to fame as it did not only develop to an impressive seaside resort but between 1952 and 1985 the Circuit Park Zandvoort played host to Formula 1 and to this day it is an important venue for national and international race car series.

“Meiner Meinung nach ist Zaandvoort ein schöner kleiner Ferienort. Uns gefiel die kleine Fußgängerzone mit den diversen Restaurants und Geschäften. Es ist kein Großstadtfeeling sondern eher gemütlich. Auch der breite Sandstrand mit den vielen tollen Bars, in denen man einen leckeren Kaffee oder Cocktail genießen kann mit Blick aufs Meer - einfach traumhaft!”

“We come in 20 years time to time in the region (Noorwik, Katwijk, Zandvoort). Zandvoort is the liveliest place, probably due to its easy access to Haarlem and Amsterdam. Very high density of beach pavilions. In terms of food is something for everyone, very good to us this time Thalasse liked (pavilion 18). Anyone not satisfied with the shopping is in Zandvoort, will find in Haarlem and Amsterdam.”

Zandvoort’s beaches are wide and varied. There are 39 beach ‘pavilions’with comfortable outside sitting areas for you to enjoy sun, sand and sea. Unlike in the past when the pavilions were removed in the winter, many are now permanent and as a result open throughout the year for a drink, lunch or dinner. Spectecular sea views await you.

The centre of Zandvoort has many comfortable bars en restaurants and a variety of shops. The picturesque Zandvoortse huisjes are situated in the small streets around the centre.

Zandvoort is bordered on both sides by beautiful dunes (Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen to the south and Kennemerduinen to the north) which are excellent for walking. Walking and entrance permits may be obtained from the VVV Zandvoort. The long beaches run towards Noordwijk (south) and via Bloemendaal towards Ijmuiden (north). The beach at Bloemendaal is particularly popular because of its beach parties and cool beach tents.

Zandvoort has a golf course and a race circuit. See www.circuit-zandvoort.nl for more information. Circus Zandvoort provides entertainment for all ages. It has a theatre/cinema where current films may be watched. There is alao a Casino. The colourful and striking building was designed by architect Sjoerd Soeters and is worth a visit for its design alone

ENTERTAINMENT FOR CHILDREN IN ZANDVOORT

In addition to playing and chilling on the beach and in the dunes, the “Mu-ZEE-um” situated on the promenade provides a ‘sea experience’.
