Living amidst Sweden’s nature

Sweden | The preferences for holiday home vacations in Sweden are spread over the whole country. atraveo customers appreciate travel destinations in the south, middle and north of Sweden equally. The Scandinavian kingdom impresses with its stunning natural backdrop consisting of sheer endless lush woods, green pastures and numerous crystal-clear lakes.

Many of the holiday homes you can book with atraveo have an especially idyllic location, far-off from major villages and they are often situated right next to a lake or a river. Here you can fully enjoy Swedish nature. And when hiking through the Swedish forests you might even pass an elk, the national animal of Sweden.

The most popular provinces for holiday home vacations in Sweden are Småland and Västergötland. When in Småland you can trace the footsteps of Pippi Longstocking. Västergötland on the other hand is situated along the Swedish west coast and lures with the old harbour town Gothenburg. Other nice destinations for a holiday home vacation in Sweden are also the lakes Vänern, Vättern, Bolmen, Sommen and Mälaren. Also interesting is the region around the capital Stockholm which extends over several islands. Unique charms promise the Baltic Sea islands Gotland and Öland as well as the up in the north situated unending Lappland.

Tips and information for examples on travelling and best holiday times you can also find in the holiday home selection for Sweden.

“The house is set back from the village in a cottage area, which can be reached by car through small streets. Lonely, it is not here and not as idyllic as in other areas of Sweden. The nearest supermarket is nevertheless one needs (even through the traffic calming) about 15 minutes by car. Traffic Technically you live unfortunately in a kind of dead end: the south and east is the National Park Tyresö, the north water is, so that you always only have to drive about a 25 minute drive west to (etc. Stockholm) to other destinations. As other areas of holiday cottages are cheaper.

Unfortunately, the house is not close to the water. While it has a beautiful view of the marina, but is walking too far away. On the other side of the house is a lake where you can swim beautifully, but which one comes only through a non-signposted trail through the woods. But the lake is undeveloped (no bridge or similar). The walk to the lake takes about a quarter of an hour, so you do not just in between could run back to the house again.

Attractions in the area there are many: The National Park Tyresö (best start in Tyresö By) and Stockholm are reachable by car in 45 minutes. We also made a day trip to Utö, the ferry starts from Arsta Havsbad (from Cottage also about 45 minutes) and runs morning and evening almost hourly. In Tyresö, there is a beautiful castle with a nice restaurant.”

“Stockholm with its many attractions can be reached by bus in about 40 minutes, the main railway station in about 1 hour. However, the castle and the ancient church of Tyresö themselves are worth a visit. The castle park is gorgeous. Tyresö also offers excellent shopping facilities with large supermarkets and a shopping mall.”
