Monte Ulivo is located in the hamlet of Cestaglia a verdant terraces reflected in the waters of Lake Como. The builtup area is accessed by ascending along the provincial road (built between 1915-1925) from Olivedo-Varenna; our area called Masna Valley is important for its past characterized by the discovery in 1851 of the source of the Cornasca River whose waters have excellent therapeutic qualities. Thanks to this discovery, the Maglia nursing home (hydrotherapeutic institute where well-known historic personalities have stayed) was built, followed by the vehicular road and the cable railway connecting it with the Regoledo train station located in the hamlet of Riva di Gittana. Today the ruins of the old station in Regoledo situated on the border of our land, and the cable railway that through our property thanks to our interest in maintaining certain historical pieces to be cleaned and reevaluated. Contrarily, the nursing home (now owned by the Istituto Sacra Famiglia of Cesano Boscone) is appreciated for the care it provides to people with disabilities.
