East Frisia | The national drink of East Frisians is without doubt tea. The most popular one is the aromatic, spicy bitter smelling East Frisian blend from Assam tea with different other black tea varieties mainly strong Ceylon and fruity java tea.
It becomes a proper Frisian with hot bubbling water in a tea pot and served after three to four minutes with a piece of candy in a cup and topped off with whipped cream. It is suitable for breakfast, classic tea times at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. or after lunch or dinner. East Frisians claim that you can drink tea anytime as far as one is not sleeping.
