“Only pizzerias in town. Correct eating just far possible. Copperto (extra cost for the air in pizzeria) quite annoying and is not visitor friendly. Very nice area to Montaione. Properly shopping but only 18 km further (Castelfiorentino) possible. Not to be missed: Certaldo, St Gimignano, Florence and of course the Mediterranean beach in Vada. All roads but in poor condition.”

    “We just visited Montaione briefly.
The supermarket in Montaione was significantly worse than the supermarket in Castelfiorentino (which was also closer). Montaione is a beautiful and picturesque village with a nice market (Friday) in the alleys.”

This is how holiday rental owners described Montaione

The farm is located into a private park of 200 hectares in the countryside of Montaione, right between San Gimignano and Volterra just far 15 km from Belmonte Vacanze.
At 500 m from the apartments there are two excellent Tuscan restaurants agreements, inside the pictouresque borgo of Iano.

San Regolo, where inside there is the painting Madonna del Buon Consiglio - from 13th Century by a scholar of Cimabue, the Praetorian Palace, which houses the Museum of Natural History and, just outside the town, the chapel of Santissima Annunziata with its remarkable 17th Century fresco.

Numberless towns and villages are easy to visit in the area nearby Montaione: besides famous art cities as Florence, Pisa, Siena and Lucca, reachable in about one hour by car, there are in the surroundings medieval Tuscany towns, such as San Gimignano, Volterra and San Miniato.
