Sun, fun and sights

Italian Adriatic Coast | The Adriatic coastline between Trieste in the north and the Strait of Otranto just behind Ancona in the south is probably one of the nicest as well as most popular tourist destinations in Europe. In this region one can find wide sandy beaches, delightful countryside, lagoons and many famous towns of course including Venice.
There is quite a lot to do. Nearly everywhere one can choose from a wide selection of water sports: From a simple pedal boat to surfing, sailing, driving a motor boat or a diving trip everything is possible.
The Adriatic coastline is also a paradise for kids. The beach is a great place to run riot and play in the sand. In order to cool off the sea offers the ideal setting to splash around. Alternatively you may also consider one of the several water parks with large slides and wave pools. Beyond this there are a number of other attractions such as go-kart, riding, tennis, free climbing and much more. There is no real chance of boredom.
Those interested in a more cultural program will probably find towns such as Venice, Ferarra, Padua, Ravenna or Trieste to their liking instead of the touristic strongholds. Lido die Spina awaits with a very special highlight: Here in the midst of the amusement strip along the coast surprisingly you will able to see the second largest collection of paintings in Italy and not as you may expect in Milan or Rome. Definitely worth a trip!

Pulsating beach life along the Adriatic Coast

The Italian Adriatic stretching from Grado in the north to Cattolica in the south attracts many with its endless long sandy beaches. Families with children will be able to find everything that they need for a pleasurable beach vacation: flat slop beaches for the little ones and sun loungers for the adults. Children are able to enjoy and splash around in the water without fear and build castles whilst the parents can take a small time out and relax under the sun. The children though will not only be enthused by the beaches but there are several theme and aqua parks on the Adriatic coast that provide other welcome alternatives. It will be very difficult to find any form of solitude in this holiday region and contact with the locals is virtually guaranteed. The night life is equally an attractive proposition in this region. Every resort along the Adriatic Coast has an entertainment district with discos, bars, pubs, trattorias and restaurants that are open to the early morning hours.
Despite Rimini and Cesenatico being the famous resorts it is actually Bibione, Caorle, Lignano, Rosolina Mare and Lido di Jesolo that are most popular with atraveo customers. Find out why and search for your dream property along the Adriatic Coast!

“Monopoli has us very well. The apartment is close to the shops. At almost every corner is a fruit and vegetable store in the near vicinity there are (we met) 4 Fish shops. Also, there are small supermarkets that have everything, but they are very narrow and small.

We had rented a car because we would have to park somewhere else but. Everything was within walking distance. Our trips we have taken by bus and train. The compounds are good and cheap. The train station is about 800 meters, but it is pleasant to walk. The water is clear, the beaches are clean. Many restaurants and around the corner of the apartment a gelateria with delicious ice (Café Roma).”

“Great, typical southern Italian town, with plenty of life. Really liked us. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance. For excursions such as Alberobello or Ostuni (both a must) optimal location.”

“Monopoli is a small and beautiful city. Many shopping facilities are available and close to the holiday home. The old town (also within walking distance from the apartment) is well worth seeing and has many restaurants and bars.”

It is also known as a City of One Hundred Districts. Here visitors will find many wonderful accommodations, vacation rentals, condo rentals, apartment rentals and villa rentals.

Take a stroll around the beautiful small harbour, checking out all the boats, watching the fishermen repair their nets and watching the fish darting about in the azure water, grab an ice cream and watch the world go by. Explore the old quarter and its myriad passageways, narrow roads and alleys, you are sure to get lost as you dive down every little turn. After a day of exploring return to your Italian accommodation, apartment rental and simply relax.

This city is rich in history and a well sought after destination for history lovers.

Monopoli’s main sites include the Castle of Charles V, the Coastal castle of St. Stephen, the Jerusalem Hospital, the Cathedral Basilica, Purgatorio Church ,and the Palazzo Palmieri. Make sure not to miss out Jerusalem Hospital, founded in 1350 by the Hospitaller and the Cathedral Basilica.

With plenty of unspoilt coast, clear blue seas and the beautiful countryside given over to mainly olive production, orchards and almond trees, it is easy to understand why Italian tourists arrive in droves during the summer, festivals and holidays. There are over 2 dozen sandy beaches dotted along the 8 miles of this part of the coast and many other bathing opportunities from the low lying rocks.

The fairly central location of Monopoli and close proximity to the excellent coast road make it a good base to explore the area with lots to see and do close by, a peaceful break lazing by beach holiday from one of the many wonderful coves.
