“The immediate proximity to the beach and the pool are just hit for children. The beach in front of the house is manageable, but you can go about 200 m in the bay, without the belly wet. In about 1 kilometer away there is in Kampor a large and in the other direction in Gonar a great small beach. The sand is everywhere (also for the castle building).
Restaurants (we recommend the restaurant "More" promenade to Gonar) and a supermarket "Konzum" are nearby and within walking distance. For the daily needs you can find almost everything. Because of the fact that the bay is in a dead end, it is here very pleasantly quiet. In Kampor there are also pedal boats, a badly equipped bicycle rental, exchange office, bus stop. Also interesting was the memorial and the history of the camp in Kampor. If you want to go cycling or hiking, you should get a good map from the Konzum-Markt. The signposting is partly missing or quite sporty. It is worthwhile but once again to Supetarska Draga or through Kalifront to hiking / cycling. Rab-City with several major supermarkets (Tommies, Konzum, Petra, DM) and some places of interest can be reached by car in 15 min.”

“for shopping or to go to a restaurant, a car is required. Rab is a lovely town but about 8 km away, have all the other places on the island no center, only houses stand next to the road others farther away. On the walking paths are entirely absent benches (seating) to rest.”

“Kampor is quiet and serene. Little traffic, little noise, no bars and nightclubs. Great sunsets.

Three restaurants are nearby, the Planka we can highly recommend, which is only 50m away.

Sandy beach Mel very shallow, good for small children to swim you have to walk longer.

The nearest small supermarket is about 600m away, the better Thommy in Rab.

Excursion to Rab and on the Kamenjak we can recommend. On nearby Kalifron peninsula and the forest reserve, you can walk or mountain biking great.”

This is how holiday rental owners described Kampor

One of the villages to have best preserved the appearance of an old fishing village, nestling in the abundance of the Dundo Forest nature reserve on the Kalifront peninsula, an oasis for hikers and bikers, with its variety of stone and sandy beaches, eco-friendly farm products and good restaurants. this is Kampor – a charming play of old and new, just what the modern man is looking for.
Particularly unique to Kampor is the Franciscan monastery of St Euphemia, patron of the parish and village, with its ethnographic museum, gallery of the works of Friar Ambroz Testen, one of the oldest stores of written Croatian works in this part of the Adriatic, while for the Magdalenino (Our Lady Magdalene) holiday, Easter Monday and the 16th September on St Euphemia’s Day, we can all enjoy the cultural events and entertainment put on in the village.

rocky beaches and bays. The island of Rab has many beaches. One of larger is sandy beach "Veliki Mel" in Kampor, that lays 200m from our house. There is also one of the most popular FKK beaches in the region named "Kandalora" or "The English beach" as English king Eduard VIII bathed there in 1936.

Amenities include restaurants, tennis, beach volleyball and basketball courts, boat excursions and a scubadiving center. Tourists also have opportunity to rent small boats, bikes and mopeds. Arts lovers may be interested in a museum which is part of St. Eufemia's monastery and the World War 2 memorial cemetery.

The green environment - the vicinity of the Kalifront peninsula with the well-preserved Dundo Forest - provides a nice scenery for long walks, and the nearby tourist resorts Suha Punta and Rab offer entertainment in the evening.
