Hike to the castle from the nearby town.
Small grocery store 500 m. Away, 10 min. drive to the small town. 1/2 hour to Jelena Góra with many shops and restaurants. Beautiful buildings.
Many nearby mountain towns with activities including climbing.”

“A beautifully renovated old market square with arcades. Interesting and inviting you to linger. What is lacking is in the hospitality at this place, right Polish cuisine! The quality of the restaurants, however, is excellent.”

This is how holiday rental owners described Jelenia Gora

Lower Silesia is one of the most attractive regions of Poland. This region boasts the highest concentration of palaces and castles of any similar-sized region in Europe, most of which have largely been undiscovered by mass tourism. The mountains draw in those seeking an escape from the tumult of the city, as well as peace and quiet, in a land of high ridges and plains.(Though they can be seen on most days from the house, they can be reached in a 30 minutes drive.)
Numerous foot and bicycle trails lead through the most attractive areas of Lower Silesia (there is a bike trail in front of the house and a marked walking route just behind.)
A kayaking trip along the wide and languorous rivers through the region is sure to provide an unforgettable experience. The closest spot is just 4km away on the beautiful river Bobr where fishermen can be seen wading into the water to enjoy a spot of fly fishing for trout, etc.
For those who prefer the challenges of extreme sport, numerous climbing trails await. And in winter there are superbly prepared ski runs.
Lovers of horseback riding will find open space, forest trails, picturesque valleys and rolling hillsides (nearest horseback riding is found 8km away).
Many visitors are attracted by the Karkonosze Mountains, one of the most valued recreational and leisure areas in Poland.

Vacation with lots of culture and nature

Poland | Poland scores with holidaymakers in respect to its good price performance ratio as well as with having one of the most lovely and untouched nature areas in Europe. In the last years Poland has been discovered by many vacationers and consequently become a popular travel destination. You can have a great holiday along the Baltic Sea coast with seemingly never ending fine sandy beaches. Pretty coastal resorts and a virtually untouched natural landscape at the Bay of Pomerania and Gdansk Bay ensure ideal holiday conditions.

But the heartland has a number of great regions which are waiting to be discovered: How about a holiday home around the Masurian Lake District or in Kashubian region? Here you will find great conditions suitable for cycling tours and hiking trips. The further you travel down to the southern part of Poland you will notice the landscape becoming hilly and mountainous. Close to the border with the Czech Republic and Slovakia the Beskids, Sudetes and Krkonoše (also referred to as Giant Mountains) offer lots different forms of nature as well various recreational activities both in the summer and winter. Many regions in Poland are characterised by magical forests which are home to some rare species in Central Europe like wolves and moose. In the eastern parts of Poland there are for example the Carpathians where you can experience untouched primeval forests.

Next to a great landscape the many Polish cities and towns are worth seeing. Krakow for example impresses with its lively old town and interesting sights. Both Warsaw and Gdansk can look back on a long history steeped in tradition which is reflected in countless sights and monuments. Further interesting towns also not to be forgotten are Wrocław, Poznań and Szczecin.
