Holiday rentals in cities like Dublin and Cork offer lots of entertainment, whereas countryside holiday homes offer space to rest and relax. If you prefer historic sites to outdoor adventures, Ireland has a lot to offer. You can set off from your holiday rental and discover Glendalough, a 6th century monastry in County Wicklow or kiss the Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle. “For a quiet holiday without the hustle and bustle (at least in October) and located as a central base, Glengarriff is well recommended! There are several pubs, gas station and supermarket for small shopping in the town and for bigger errands you can go in a few minutes to Bantry.”

“Glengariff is a good starting point for tours of the area. The place itself is quickly explored. It is worth taking a boat trip to Garnish-Iceland, where we were lucky enough to see dolphins. For self-catering are shopping sprees worth after Barntry (15 km), as the supermarket in a small selection for but has high prices.”

“In the village there is a "Spar" market as well as several pubs - sometimes with live music - and souvenir shops. Gas Station.
A trip to the "Mizen Head Signal Station" to the southwestern point of Ireland is a must. Breathtaking impressions of the several hundred meters high "Mizen Brigde". Just great.
Even a visit to the "Killarney National Park" should not be ignored. Walking shoes not forgotten.

“Er is een supermarket bij de Shellpomp en het 1 in stadje. Moet je niet te veel van verwachten.
Plaats is gezellig en blijft wel dat het iets toerister IERS ondanks is dan Castletownbere.
Ook genoeg restaurants. Omgeving is geweldig. Mooie wandelpaden door de Bossen en Bergen. Een hele fijne vakantie gehad.
Zijn enkele bezienswaardigheden site name zoals het bamboepark en Garinisheiland. Zeker de Waard moeite.”
