Discover the beautiful Dalmatia

Dalmatia | The picturesque landscape of Dalmatia stretches from the island Rab in the northwest to the border with Montenegro in the southeast. Typical features of the coast in this traditional region are the fjord like bays as well as the islands off the coast. Cultural and touristic centres are the towns of Split, Dubrovnik, Zadar and Sibenik. In the small fishing villages and idyllic heartland you will find peace and seclusion. Beautiful sandy beaches are a special feature of the islands Rab and Pag. The other islands also are worth spending a vacation on. When on Pag don’t miss out on tasting the local delicassy feta cheese.
Worth a visit is Dalmatia's biggest city Split. Why do you not start at the Diokletian's Palace and take a stroll through the old town centre as well as along the promenade. Alternatively you could walk up to Marjan Hill where you have a wonderful view over the area. Should you want to take in some of the cultural treasures then we would recommend you to visit one of the larger museums of the town.
The Makarska Riviera provides you with some of the most charming beaches where you can relax and recharge those empty batteries. With the phenomenal setting of the Biokovo Mountains as a background make this location one of the unique parts of coastal strip to be found in Dalmatia.
In the south part of Dalmatia you will find the Konavle Valley also known as the “Garden of Dubrovnik”. A variety of vegetables as well as figs, olives and cypresses grow in these ideal surroundings. Equally important are the vineyards of this region that are spread out in this spacious valley. This diverse and fertile countryside invites you to go on extensive walks whilst enjoying the tranquillity that the area offers. Should you want to take in some of the local sights and sounds then you should visit the town of Cilipi where every Sunday folklore events take place.

“Drasnice is a nice town with little to do. There is a nice restaurant and a few occasions where you can have a drink. There is a small supermarket where you can do your shopping. The beach is small but well suited for sunbathing and swimming. The locals are friendly.”

“Stay, the tranquility and relaxation in September for all, really great. 2 nice restaurants with good, cheap and delicious offer. A Konzum with almost everything you need and a farmer in the morning offering fresh fruits and vegetables. Etc. Souvenirs and ice at the small promenade. In season, there is certainly at the two beautiful stretches of beach very closely here. Shopping and strolling can be seen in neighboring Podgora. We liked it.”

“Drasnice is a nice little place right on the seafront. The visitors are mostly from Slavic countries (Poland, Czech Republic, etc.). Mostly it is fairly quiet place only once in two weeks a feast for the tourists instead. Since it is then loud until after midnight. Since our apartment was right on the square where this festival takes place this evening was always a bit annoying. Otherwise calm after midnight was usually in the café and otherwise (no discos or similar). There are close to the beach a few small restaurants. There is also a bakery and a small grocery store. The streets are very narrow and recommended only for experienced motorists. Otherwise a beautiful little fishing village.”

“Very quiet little place, perfect for switching off. Beach can be reached in 2 minutes on foot. The restaurant in the village was now not very good but not very bad. In small shop in the village you can hear everything, of course, was always full, which was annoying from time to time. Kiosk and post office are also available. In its entirety, a very beautiful small town by the sea. Highly Recommended for a quiet and relaxing holiday.”

Makarska is only 12 km. Drasnice is an ideal place for active or relaxing vacations. The mixture of mountains, nature, coast and islands (Hvar and Brac) invite for different activities. The closeness of the Biokovo Mountain (Nature Park) makes this village even more magnificent. The place is by itself very attractive for nature lovers and walkers, as they can walk to the old village or to the neighbor village Igrane lead by a path through the olive trees. On this path one can as well find several lonely beaches. In Drasnice there are: a supermarket, a post office, a tourist and an exchange office, a bakery, cafes, restaurants (depending on season), and besides that a natural spring with water from the mountain
