This is how holiday rental owners described Dénia
The city of Denia is located on the coast, between Valencia and Alicante. It is a medium size city (around 55.000 population) and quite good known by spanish and foreign people (most of them from UK, France, Germany) due to the weather, gastronomy and a lot of people have ...
show more a summer house in this area.
It is the most beautiful place between Valencia and Alicante province. It has a lot of history behind churches, castles, caves and towns. Towns from the Phoenicians age until Arabic age. Full of life, light, sun and delicious meals of meat or fish. The best Paella in Spain.
The weather in Denia is especially gentle, with an average of 11,1 °C in Januar and 25,2 °C in August. It is considered that Denia has so good weather that was built a monument in the port of Denia to remember the citizens and tourist.
DENIA as an ancient city on the mediterranean sea, has a variety gastronomy that has mixed different flavours of the world along the time.
It has many restaurants where you can order typical and traditional meals of the area such as Paella, Fideua, Arroz Abanda, Arros Caldós and of course fresh fish and seafood.
If you are the kind of person that you prefer drinking a tasty cold beer why do not try our traditional TAPAS. It will be the suitable beer´s friend and you are in the best place to do it.
Denia is a city which has many fiestas during the year. These are some of them:
A) In the middle of March(17-19 March), we have our famous " Fallas "which are world known. During these days, streets are crowded and people enjoy a good meal, have a drink or simply go for a walk along the old centre.
There is music everywhere and usually there are shows, concerts, and expositions as well.
B) At the beginning of July (7-15 July), we have our Fiestas of Santisima Sangre. It has an extensive program of festive activities in honor of the Holy Blood.
The program consists of religious events and other activities
such as sports tournaments, children's activities, music
concerts and much more ....
Some of the more traditional activities are:
-Els Bous a la mar, declared National Tourist Interest, with two daily sessions.
-The procession of the Blessed Blood takes place on Wednesday.
-The concert of the Musical Artistic Association of Denia which is held the day of the Holy Blood.
-The parade of floats, music and Provincial Tourist Interest declared that occurs the last Saturday of the festival.
-The fireworks is held on the last day in the evening and closing com culmination of the festivities
C) At the beginning of August (5-16 August), we have our Fiestas of Moros y Cristianos. This Fiesta is a reminder of the christians´ victory over the muslims who were living for 800 years in Spain as muslim´s kingdom. At that time, Denia was an important muslim trade port.
Vamos a la playa! – Holiday at Spain’s coasts
Spain | From the northern border with France down to the border with Portugal the areas of the Spanish Mediterranean coast string together: Costa Brava, Costa Blanca and Costa del Sol are just the most famous ones. Why don’t you take a look at the atraveo offers along the Costa Dorada, Costa del Azahar, Costa Calida or Costa Tropical. The chances of finding the perfect holiday house are as good as it is on one of the two famous Spanish island groups, the Canary and Balearic Islands.
Spain offers everything you need for a great vacation at the seaside. Long beaches, kid’s playing at the beach under gloriously blue skies whilst the parents enjoy the time out from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the tranquillity. A dip in the sea for cooling-off, an ice cream at the near-by kiosk or bathing in the sun on a comfy sun lounger.
Also the multi-faceted cultural life in Spain provides for entertainment. This does not only include the many interesting exhibitions and museums, such as the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao or the great museums in Valencia and Barcelona – but also party animals and night owls will get their money’s worth.
Beside the Canary and Balearic Islands atraveo customers favour especially the Costa Blanca and Costa Brava as well as the region of Andalusia in the south and the area around Valencia.
