Reviews from our customers
This is how holiday rental owners described Como
Endless natural beauties and an original and fascinating artistic heritage in which three main trends may easily be outlined. The first more garish, is formed by the Lake Como Villas, unique in the world both for their architectural and landscape value and for the treasures they contain. The second, more hidden and cultured, is formed by the incredible concentration in this territory of Romanesque churches, that testify a brilliant and flourishing Middle Age.
The third asset, more evocative and intriguing, consists of the many fortifications of different ages, with with their own asset of anecdotes and legends, reminding of a turbulent and adventurous past . Three artistic heritages proposing Como district for an artistic discover absolutely not banal at all, but stimulating and easily accessible, of significant cultural thickness.
Among the most relevant points of interest is the Isola Comacina, known as the Pompei of Lake Como because of the little town Comacchia sited here in the past and now completely destroyed. Not to miss are the historical gardens of Villa Carlotta, an old mansion extended over a surface of 70.000 square kilometres. A restoring pause with cooking of the Lombardy tradition in a refuge, a farm holiday centre or at one of the many restaurants on the lake shore.
