The "Wild Coast "
Costa Brava | At the Costa Brava beautiful sandy beaches and a great landscape of bizarre rock formations as well as green pine groves await you. Enjoy sun, beach and sea in a mild sun spoilt climate and discover the cultural treasures of this region. The Dali Museum in Figueres, the Sagrada Familia of Gaudi in Barcelona and the medieval town of Girona are some of the unique sights the Costa Brava has to offer. Considering the rugged coast as well as the lively shaped landscape which are overgrown with countless pine forests the coastal landscape in the north-eastern part of Spain is referred to as the “Wild Coast”. One might though think that the name actually is reference to the nightlife of this region: Many coastal resorts give you the chance to turn night into day – with Lloret de Mar leading the way which has a seven kilometre long sandy beach and a vast range of discos, bars and pubs on offer.
If you would prefer to avoid the hustle and bustle of the coastal resorts then just a couple of kilometres away from the coast there are cook oak forests waiting for you to discover. In the area of Sant Pere Pescador one is provided with a splendid nature adventure. The nature reserve Aiguamolls de l´Emporda with coastal lagoons, salt marshes and dunes are not only a nesting place for many water birds but also it plays a significant role in fruit growing. Here for example you can enjoy a quad tour through the delightful landscape. Of course the preservation of the nature is paramount. Regardless whether you just are briefly staying in the Costa Brava region or planning a longer vacation you must take time to visit the rocky bays at Begur and Palafrugell which gave this region its name. atraveo has more than 3,800 holiday apartments and houses on offer around the “Wild Coast”. According to the reviews of customers the most popular destinations for a holiday home vacation are Empuriabrava, l'Escala, l'Estartit, Llanca, Playa de Pals and Roses. Further information on Spain and the Costa Brava can be found in the respective holiday home selection.

This is how holiday rental owners described Barcelona-Eixample
The area is indeed an extension to the city that benefits greatly from its ingenious urban planning ...
show more at the hands of Catalan engineer Cerdes in the 1850s. Cerdes had a fondness for straight lines and the whole area is set out in a grid with each block having an inner courtyard. This means that it is hard to get lost in Eixample, and moreover, easy to find places.
Nowadays Eixample is famous for being home to the majority of Barcelona's art nouveau masterpieces, and a high-class residential and shopping area.
The right side of the Eixample is the older and therefore has more of the impressive architecture, but really there is not a huge difference between the two sides.
Passeig de Gràcia is the heart of Eixample and the line that cuts the area into two from "Eixample left" and "Eixample right".
Casa Mila in Eixample
Casa Mila in Eixample
Here you will find most of Barcelona's international designer shops such as Chanel and MaxMara. Also along this road are La Pedrera and Casa Batlló, two of Gaudí's characteristically dreamlike buildings. There are many interesting art galleries in the area and if art appeals then be sure to have a look in Fundacion Antoni Tapies which is just off Passeig de Gràcia and has a permanent collection of this Catalan artist's work.
Eixample is a safe and residential part of the city but there is also a vibrant nightlife and a thriving café culture. Eixample is a beautiful barrio to wander round, take in the glorious architecture and people-watch from one of the many terrace cafes.
It is in Eixample that you will find some of the best, and most expensive, restaurants in town. This combined with some internationally known bars such as Dry Martini makes the area a pleasant place to spend an evening.
Transport to and from the area is good. Eixample is serviced by several metro stops, as well as the FGC train. However the area is central and most other parts of the city are within walking distance.
show more to Catalunya Square. My son loved going down there having a walk and watch the skaters going up and down. Just in 10 minutes you can reach the MACBA (Barcelona Contemporenean Art Museum), where my son used to go as he studied Architecture and he enjoyed this kind of visits. Her mother and I prefered catching Bus Nr. 14 and go to the Barceloneta to visit the beach and have some ice-cream. Also we used to go to the Ninot Market in the morning to buy some good meal and having supper in the terrace at night. Now my son has come back to our small village to settle up his own business, but we don't want to lose our apartment. Maybe our grandchildren could enjoy it in the future. However, what we want to is that anyone else can enjoy it in the meanwhile.
The district of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, is a part of the Eixample and is one of the nicest residential areas of the city. The wonderful Sagrada Familia is located in this neighborhood and gives it a special charm. Also, the area is ideal ...
